Thumbnails come only partially up in directory, rest remains empty placeholders

Hello,

When I turn on the thumbnail view in Windows Explorer, in a directory

of 1000+ .jpg images, only the first 640 or so are displayed, the rest

are empty placeholders, and some are empty Icons.

These images are all ok, none of them are corrupt.

When I do this on another pc, all the thumbs are there, none missing.

So, its not a WINXP bug, or a SP3 bug, because the other pc is also

WINXP+SP3. Something is rotten on my pc, maybe a registry entry... I

have no idea.

I have tried various suggestions from this group, including:

regsvr32 shimgvw.dll and

REGSVR32 SHMEDIA.DLL and

http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

(xp_thumbnail.exe)

None of these helped. This could be a serious problem.

Does anyone here have an idea?

Thanks in advance.

Have you deleted the Thumbs.db file located in the folder that contains your

images?
