Guest Jesper DK Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Im setting up two new Terminal Serveres (2003R2). I have made it so that users from Sweden get their language in menus when they logon, and users from Norway get theirs and so on. But I cannot set the keyboard language, it is default English. How do I set the keyboard pr. country so they dont have to change it at all.
Guest Vera Noest [MVP] Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Re: Keyboard layout on Terminal Server Do you mean that you have installed the Swedish and Norwegian Multi- Language Pack on the server? I believe that the language is configured in a GPO. _________________________________________________________ Vera Noest MCSE, CCEA, Microsoft MVP - Terminal Server TS troubleshooting: http://ts.veranoest.net ___ please respond in newsgroup, NOT by private email ___ =?Utf-8?B?SmVzcGVyIERL?= <JesperDK@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote on 09 jul 2008 in microsoft.public.windows.terminal_services: > Im setting up two new Terminal Serveres (2003R2). Guest Jesper DK Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Re: Keyboard layout on Terminal Server Yes. The language packs is installed, but the user is not presented with "Swedish" in the language bar. It just says English because it is default. I can change that to another language ex. danish, and then it is danish for all new users. I think I read that it is a setting it takes from the "Default User" profile. But cant you set it somewhere? Guest Jesper DK Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 Re: Keyboard layout on Terminal Server I found out that if you set your language on your keyboard layout to lets say Norwegian, and connect to your terminal server, the keyboard layout is transfered to the terminal server. So i dont have to script anything, just install the languages that I need on the Terminal server, and it will automatic choose it on logon based on the clients language. Now all I need is regional settings. They can not be set trough GP, only menu and os language is set trough GP. Guest Vera Noest [MVP] Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 Re: Keyboard layout on Terminal Server OK, I thought that you had already installed the languages but that the keyboard layout wasn't inherited for some reason. Anyway, one way to solve the problem with the regional settings is to give users access to *only* the Reginal Settings control applet and let them do it themselves. Here's how (use intl.cpl instead of main.cpl): How can I allow my left-handed users to configure their mouse buttons properly? http://ts.veranoest.net/ts_faq_user_issues.htm#mouse_control _________________________________________________________ Vera Noest MCSE, CCEA, Microsoft MVP - Terminal Server TS troubleshooting: http://ts.veranoest.net ___ please respond in newsgroup, NOT by private email ___ =?Utf-8?B?SmVzcGVyIERL?= <JesperDK@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote on 10 jul 2008 in microsoft.public.windows.terminal_services: > I found out that if you set your language on your keyboard > layout to lets say Norwegian, and connect to your terminal > server, the keyboard layout is transfered to the terminal > server.
