It keeps giving me same updates over and over again, including "main"

update to the program. Anyone else having the same problem?

I've uninstalled it for now.

Re: Spybot S& Destroy Updates

Hope we are talking about WinME.

No problems here with my updates under ver.1.52.

Will it be safe for me to upgrade to ver.1.60?

Harry.

No such issue here with 1.52 on XP SP3, Alias.

I already started to, H, but somehow my download just wanes after a few

kb's.

Will try again later, I guess.

There shouldn't be any risk involved, since WinME is included in their list.

I take it your foot is better by now???

Did you kick somebody a little too hard (you know where) by any chance?

Harry.

Re: Spybot S& Destroy Updates

Whoops, just got back here. Version 1.52. Didn't know there was a

1.60, but you know me......I let you all beta test any new version

first!!

Downloaded Firefox 3 and had a few problems with it, but after hours

(eons) of picking stuff out of Windows Explorer that shouldn't have been

left there, it is working pretty good. Lost my gazillions of bookmarks

at one point, but got them back.

Cheers.....Heather

Thanks for the kind words, Harry, but, no, I don't think it will ever be

better. It is something I will be living with for the rest of my life, I'm

afraid. But, it could be worse.....I can still walk, just not far and I get

to park in the handicapped spots now!! :-)

Heirloom, old and parks by the front door

Re: Spybot S& Destroy Updates

I am so very sorry to hear that, H and had no idea of a serious problem.

You have my profound sympathies and best wishes for improvement against all

odds. Didn't get around to downloading the latest Spybot yet either.

Eventually it will happen, though.

Harry.

Re: Spybot S& Destroy Updates

Spybot 1.6 now full release, beta superseded.

BTW, to all who fancy it, FileHippo Update Checker seems to work well from

After first entry in thread, blank screen for the next six. Seems to be a

Java problem. Let's see if this shows up.

Easy solution, use a proper newsreader rather than the deficient Microsoft

web interface to these newsgroups.

No problem here. But I am not using a web browser to access these groups.

The post here are hosted on an NNTP server, and I am using a proper NNTP

client (40tude Dialog); though even MS Outlook Express is superior to MS

Internet Explorer for viewing these groups.

In case you are curious about how I know you are using a web browser, your

header lines, as revealed by my news client:

| X-Newsreader: Microsoft CDO for Windows 2000

Switch to MSOE, you will be happier with the experience.
