Guest Rob Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 All, how come, when logged onto a server as the domain admin, I can not execute any exe or batch files off a different machine? When I do, I get the error: "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item." If its not an executable or batch file, the app opens fine. Any help would be appreciated.

Directly opening executables or batch files as well as vbs(cript) and friends is not allowed by the system by default. You need to put the location from which you're attempting to access the file into the "Trusted Sites". cheers, Florian -- Microsoft MVP - Group Policy eMail: prename [at] frickelsoft [dot] net. blog: http://www.frickelsoft.net/blog.
