Well thats how it is. before all of this I didn't know anything about

viruses. didn't have any protection or anything. So then obviously I

caught a virus on my dell Inspiron 2200 laptop. Actually it was all

more like spy ware or whatever. I tried system restoring. Just my

luck the last restore point is right after i get the virus so that

doesn't work. then i download a free trial of CA virus scan and then

get the spy doctor. I ran these in safe mode and now i think i'm pretty

much free of infection. now the problem is that i cannot access some

websites or some parts of for example i can go to a website like

gamefaqs.com butnot a website like 4chan.com also i can go to google

but if i try to run a search it will do the same thing it always does,

just sit and load. also when i boot into safe mode with networking I

can access all internet sites with no problem. I have seen similar

problems on the internet but nothing that fits. Can anyone help me?

Seeing that you had no virus protection until now, your system might

have more viruses (or residual damage from them) than a dog has

fleas. If you want a really solid machine then you should reinstall

Windows on a freshly formatted disk.

Unexplained computer behavior may be caused by deceptive software

Run a /thorough/ check for hijackware, including posting your hijackthis log

to an appropriate forum.

When all else fails, HijackThis v2.0.2

(http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.exe) is the preferred tool to use.

It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware with

assistance from an expert. **Post your log to

by an expert in such matters, not here.**

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this

isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, reputable and

independent (i.e., not BigBoxStoreUSA) computer repair shop.

It also helps if you tell us, not what your system CAN'T do, but what it

DOES do when you try. That is, what happens when you try to access these

sites? Do you get an error message? Does your machine make a rude noise?

Yeah i guess i diddnt make clear on what it does. whenever i try to get

to these sites it just keeps loading and never gets anywhere as far as

i can tell. but recently i got on part of a website that i cant access.

i went on the website in safe mode and then shut the computer down but

later i just booted my regular stuff up and the internet browser asked

me if i wanted to restore my session. i said yes. then i could go

around on this site on i think every page except for the homepage,

where it i tried it would just load and do nothing.ANOTHER THING i

found this myway search assistant B'S in my ad remove. i just now read

someething that says this is one of those bad programs. could this be

my problem? if so how do i get rid of it?

To keep track of things, it helps immensely if you include all of previous

message(s) in your replies to the newsgroup. Thank you.
