Guest infinitiguy Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 I'm going to be changing the IP address of my DNS/DHCP server on friday and I just wanted to find out if there is anything to look out for? I attempted this change last night(re-IPed from 10.65.6.60 to 10.65.6.84) and the dhcp service ended up listening on .60 until I restarted it(which is fine..) but then later it unauthorized itself.. I suspect there may have been a conflict in AD so I'm suspecting I'll need to unauthorize before I re-IP.. then maybe reboot the host(to ensure all services restart..) then re-authorize. How long should I allow between authorizations? just typical AD replication? The reason for the re-IP is I'm moving it into production and I want to retain the same IP of the old dns/dhcp server.
Guest Kyle Blake Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 RE: Changing IP of DHCP server I think your plan sounds good. Let me know how it goes.
