Guest Indigo1928@gmail.com Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Hello, my friend's display changed to Classic View when she got on today. It used to be the Windows XP View. She tried going to Appearance and Themes>Display, but the only options were My Current Theme, Windows Classic, More Themes Online, and Browse. She also tried Appearance and Themes>Taskbar and Start Menu, but Start Menu was already selected. If it makes any difference, she has a laptop. Does anyone know how to change it back to the Windows XP View?

Restore to a day/time prior to the problem showing up and see if that takes care of the problem. To find it go to "Start" and pick "Help and Support". From there you choose "Undo changes to your computer with System Restore". Then make sure the "Restore my computer to an earlier time" has a dot in it and click on the "Next" button. From there pick a date/time that is before the problem started occurring and let the system try to fix itself.

Right click on the start button & choose properties, under the start menu tab choose the 'start menu' option rather than 'classic start menu'. HTH, Edna.
