Guest george Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 When I attempt to power it up (battery only) I get no lights and it doesn't power up. When I plug in the AC adapter it turns on right away but the date goes back to 2000 and time was screwed up. I go into control panel, date/time and plug in the correct date/time and everything is peachy. Again, if I pull out the AC Adapter while the laptop is on, it remains on. > * The laptop is a *Sony Vaio, Model PCG-7A2L.Windows XP Pro. Any suggestions would be appreaciated, TIA -- --------------------------------- --- -- - Posted with NewsLeecher v3.9 Final Web @ http://www.newsleecher.com/?usenet ------------------- ----- ---- -- -
Guest sgopus Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 RE: Help with Sony Laptop power issue I told you once before, replace the motherboard battery. also it may be the main battery is going bad, they don't last forever "george" wrote: > When I attempt to power it up (battery only) I get no lights and it doesn't power up. Again, I don't think the motherboard battery is the answer although it apparently is dead and needs to be replaced. Again - and for the *last* time - either your laptop battery is bad or your motherboard is bad. Contact Sony tech support. Constantly posting the same question isn't going to get you any different answers in this universe. Try a parallel one or follow the advice you've already gotten twice. This is a purely hardware related question that has absolutely NOTHING to do with XP. Ask elsewhere.
