Guest Wojciech Kowasz Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 Hello, I'm wondering if anyone tried to install Hyper-V Release Update (KB950050) on Windows Web Server 2008 x64? It has shown up recently in my Windows Update as a recommended download, but as far as I know, Web Server is not licensed to have Hyper-V role installed. I would go for it providing it is some kind of management tools only - I don't want a full Hyper-V on my web server as it would mess it up... Could someone please help me? What exactly will be installed after KB950050 on Web Server x64? Is it safe to install in this scenario? Thanks in advance, Best regards, Wojciech Kowasz

Hello Wojciech, See here: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2008/en/us/compare-features.aspx It popped also up on one machine in my test environment 2008 EE without Hyper-V. Maybe it has to do that under features you have some Hyper-V tools, which you can add for RSAT, role administration tools.
