Guest mholt@ohiohills.com Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 When I click on the point to change the settings -- really, to see what they are! -- what I get is a warning message that says "Due to an unidentified problem, Windows cannot display Windows Firewall settings." What does this mean? Do I have a impending disaster on my hands?

What anti-spyware applications (other than Defender)? What third-party firewall (if any)? -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-IE, Mail, Security, Windows Desktop Experience - since 2002 AumHa VSOP & Admin http://aumha.net DTS-L http://dts-l.net/ mholt@ohiohills.com wrote: > When I click on the point to change the settings -- really, to see > what they are! -- what I get is a warning message that says "Due to an > unidentified problem, Windows cannot display Windows Firewall > settings." > > What does this mean? "Due to an unidentified problem, Windows cannot display Windows Firewall settings" error, try: Start>Run regsvr32 hnetcfg.dll [enter] This assumes you aren't running third-party security software that has a firewall component (eg. McAfee or Norton products). Malke -- MS-MVP Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic! FAQ - http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/#FAQ
