Windows XP Re-installation Help

Hi,

 

I currently have Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3, and have been having trouble with my new computer. Currently I've only had it for a few hours and I'm pretty sure I've already got a virus on it. So as I don't have much data on it anyway I thought I'd just reinstall Windows XP on it anyway with the installation disk I got on it. When the computer boots up (with the disk in) I press F11 to access the Boot Menu, then press Boot from CD. The setup then freezes halfway through produces a black screen then comes up with an error ( I can specify the error if I have to) Could anybody help me with this please? :(

It's under warranty I assume. Where did you get it because a new computer should not have XP on it.

I agree with you RandlyL....

 

I have checked the specs and this computer comes with Windows Vista....
