Guest Churchy LaFemme Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 Win XP MCE 2005 suddenly is unable to "see" the contents of my music storage folder on a Maxtor external hard drive connected by USB, instead showing the folder in Win Explorer and in My Computer as being empty. Once in a while it shows the contents when I open Win Explorer, but usually not. Running checkdisk doesn't help. Thanks.
Guest Frank Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 Re: External drive folder "invisible" same here for a while now. never found and help. if i switch over to 2nd os (vista), the folders are there and filled with files. bye frank http://tvc15.blogs.com/
Guest Ron Badour Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 Re: External drive folder "invisible" I don't know the answer but when the folder is empty, what does the folder show when you right click it and select properties? I assume it shows there are files in the folder. Are there other files on the external drive that show up when the music files do not? When the files are there, have you tried transferring them to a new folder? -- Regards Ron Badour MS MVP Shell User "Churchy LaFemme" <ChurchyLaFemme@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:F9EAF891-A333-45A7-885A-34A4DA20E44E@microsoft.com... > Win XP MCE 2005 suddenly is unable to "see" the contents of my music > storage > folder on a Maxtor external hard drive connected by USB, instead showing > the > folder in Win Explorer and in My Computer as being empty.
