Guest Jeff@unknown.com Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 I just installed DeskmanPowerToy on my XP SP3 PC. The installation completed successfully, but as far as I can see there is no desktop icon and nothing listed in the Start menu. So how does one use it? Jeff

Move your mouse pointer up to Toolbars. In the menu that pops out, click on Desktop Manager. You should now see the MSVDM toolbar in your Taskbar. Right click on this toolbar and select MSVDM Help from the menu for guidance on using this PowerToy. Good luck Nepatsfan

How did I live without it all this time? Kidding aside, does this toy use much memory? Thanks. Jeff

Guest Jeff@unknown.com Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 Re: DeskmanPowerToy One thing the PowerToy did was replace my desktop background. Not a big deal but where would my old background image be? Is there a setting (in registry or anywhere else) that would tell me the name of the one I used to use before DeskmanPowerToy desktop? Thanks. You guys are super. Guest PA Bear [MS MVP] Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 Re: DeskmanPowerToy YW. Most users found it had a lot of shortcomings and ended up getting rid of it.
