Recently added a 7 port usb. When run shredder, computer makes a crackling

sound. Also, the mouse and keyboard are connected to usb port and the mouse

is freezing on a regular basis since hooking up. Port is 2.0 high speed,

but computer is an older Dell desktop. What is causing problem with mouse??

Re: usb port

If the PC produces crackling sound then the USB hub/wiring

is acting like an antenna and transferring the RF generated by the

shredder to the speakers/sound card.

A mouse & keyboard is a high priority peripheral. A Seven port

hub is still limited by the on-board USB 2.0 controller/hub's total

bandwidth and power constraints that serves the expansion hub.

A better solution is a PCI based USB card. It will have it's own

dedicated controller/hubs and not be limited like your current setup.
