Guest Alien Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 I created BackupAdmin account in domain, assinged account to be member od Backup Operators and Domain Admins. I used complex password. I configure all backup procedures to run via Backup Admin user. Purpose of this account is to serve only for backup needs or for starting services. Password will not be changing for this account. I would like also to implement policy for this account to deny logon locally and interactivly. Should I fall in trap here causing services and scheduled tasks to stop? Any suggestions?
Guest Meinolf Weber Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 Re: Backup Admin account sugestions Hello alien, First, if you make this account Domain admin, this is the highest level you can make. He is also aible to do backups. I would suggest you use only the Backup Operators group and if the account does not work like expected, backup fails, then search for the additional needed rights. So check allways to run the jobs with the minimum rights for your own security, even it needs more work to figure out your needs. In the backup job logs, you will get infos like access denied and can search then for the right solutions.
