Guest rwmol Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 I installed a new software. When I open it, the splash screen appears and immediately closes. Nothing after that. I had the same issue when I tried to install. The installer (WinDev) would start for a second, then close. I ended up installing it in Safe Mode. All went well there. This is a video conversion software. I uninstalled all similar programs and codecs and still have the same issue. I've been using Windows XP Pro since it's release and have install all types of software without a problem. I'm stumped. Any ideas? Thanks

Guest rwmol Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 Re: Unable to start software At this point, there is no event reports after the software fails to open. There is reports when I tried to install prior to installing it in safe mode. The vendor says he is working on the issue. "Big_Al" wrote: > rwmol wrote: > > I installed a new software. Guest rwmol Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 Re: Unable to start software Yes, it is designed to work with XP. Their support team (one guy) has actually been pretty good. They have been in constant contact with me but have been unable to isolate this problem. Their forum had two others with the exact same issue. Unresolved. Guest rwmol Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 Re: Unable to start software There is no mention of NET.Framework being required. I do have the latest vesion installed.
