'Light out' or ' remote access controller'

Does someone here tell me what is ‘lights out’ or ‘remote access

controller’. What are some of the advantages to installing one of these in a

server?

Hello Michael,

 

Did you talk about HP servers, they some lights out NIC? And this controllers

are for remote management of the server itself, without connecting to the

running OS as far as i know.
