Deadman Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Hi, I have a problem with my computer in that whenever I play games it randomly decides to blue screen and reboot my computer. It can do it after 30 secs of turning my computer on, or after 5 hours. I thought it was my old graphics card, so I bought a new one and Im still getting the same problem. Now and again the game freezes and then it says that windows 7 has recovered from a driver error with my graphics card and the game continues as normal after a 30 sec pause. I've tried everything I can thing of to fix the problem and Im out of ideas now. If this means anything to anyone this is the error I get in windows: Problem signature: Problem Event Name: BlueScreen OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3 Locale ID: 2057 Additional information about the problem: BCCode: a0000001 BCP1: 00000005 BCP2: 00000000 BCP3: 00000000 BCP4: 00000000 OS Version: 6_1_7601 Service Pack: 1_0 Product: 768_1 Files that help describe the problem: C:\Windows\Minidump\082111-17971-01.dmp C:\Users\Dan\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-40435-0.sysdata.xml Any help anyone can shed on a possible solution would be great. Overheating is not a problem by the way, I have checked this and the card is running perflecting fine. Thanks for any help. Dan Quote
michelsmith Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Hi, Do you remember making any recent changes to the computer prior to this issue? I would suggest you to follow the steps in the link and check if the issue persists: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Resolving-stop-blue-screen-errors-in-Windows-7 Also check event viewer for error follow the steps in the link: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/What-information-appears-in-event-logs-Event-Viewer Quote
Deadman Posted August 23, 2011 Author Posted August 23, 2011 (edited) Hi Michael, Thanks for getting back to me. The problem has existed ever since I had my PC back from a shop to be honest and I have since upgraded to Windows 7 and had the problem still since. There is no date I can roll back to now as it all started on a previous operating system. I did have a log at the event viewer though like you said and can see various errors through the system when I click on the left hand side that say the following: The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0xa0000001 (0x00000005, 0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000). A dump was saved in: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 082311-19484-01. Then the nxt messgae in event log says: The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly. Does this help at all? Thanks again Dan Edited August 23, 2011 by Deadman Quote
