How to re-create the Show Desktop button

I deleted the Show Desktop button from the Quick Launch by mistake. How can I

get the icon back again?

I went to http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=190355 and followed all the

steps but instead of an icon appearing on the desktop only a small .scf note

appeared.

I have Windows XP and IE7. The instructions in the Microsoft support article

above stated that the steps could be used with IE6.

This is not an important problem because I can of course right click in the

Taskbar and click Show the Desktop. But I've now put some time in trying to

solve the puzzle and I'd like to find a solution.

Re: How to re-create the Show Desktop button

Go here in Explorer:

C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet

Explorer\Quick Launch

Right click Show Desktop and create a shortcut. Drag the shortcut to the QL

area using a right click--move here.

If the Show Desktop Icon was delete, it will not be in that folder.

Go here Line 53

http://www.paulsxp.com/tweaksxp.html

This script will restore the Icon.
