games wont load but dvds do?

wondering if anyone can help. i bought football manager 2010 and installed it. it run fine until i took the disc out to watch a dvd. then when i put it back in to run it wouldnt.

 

i can hear the disc spinning but then it stops.

i click on the the cd drive in my computer but nothing happens.

i right click to go into the files, select run or autorun, it spins but stops again.

 

i had this problem when i first had my laptop a week ago with a different game.

 

all my dvds work though and like i said, this did work and has been over the weekend. any ideas?

Try the cd on a friend's computer. But warn your friend first :o

 

There may also have been an option on whether your drive plays CDs or DVDs. I'll research that on the result of whether your cd works on another computer. What would help is the character of your DVD player by giving us the driver through Start > Run > devmgmt.msc and clicking on the + in DVD/CD Roms. Pease let us know what it is.
