Guest Amaw Opaw Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 I was reorganizing some of my video files and one of them refused to move because according to Windows, another program was using it. I used Task Manager to look at the open processes, but I couldn't find any that would normally use a movie clip, nor were any media players working at the time. To my untrained eyes, I couldn't find anything anywhere that would be using that file. How can I find out which program is using a file when I get this error message? I'm using XP Pro with SP3, if that helps. Thanks.
Guest Rey Santos Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 RE: "Error moving file" when file is in use by other programs. You find out and delete the filoe using Unlocker: Unlocker 1.8.7 http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Miscellaneous/Unlocker.shtml -- Rey "Amaw Opaw" wrote: > I was reorganizing some of my video files and one of them refused to move > because according to Windows, another program was using it. > > I used Task Manager to look at the open processes, but I couldn't find any > that would normally use a movie clip, nor were any media players working at > the time. Guest Amaw Opaw Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 RE: "Error moving file" when file is in use by other programs. Thanks. I'd never heard of that program before. I'll go give it a shot.
