Guest Jorge Bravo Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 While running Ad-Aware I kept getting warnings of a MRU Object in my Recent folder. I kept deleting it but next time I scanned i was there again. I think I understand that the reason is that it is not the same one but a new ne with information on the more recent IE viewing. Anyway, at one stage I deleted the folder (in fact, two) but kept them in the Dustbin folder. I thought that they would be recreated on startp, but that did not happen. What should I do now? The computer seems to be running well without the Folder. In fact, as I said before I had two folders: Recent and Recent [2]. The full location was c:\ Docs&Settings\'ME'\Recent Thank you for your help jb

In Regedit, go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders double click on "Recent" (right pane), copy the path to the clipboard, and, in Windows Explorer, paste the path in the Address bar and hit ENTER.
Guest Jorge Bravo Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 Re: Recent Folder Great, thanks very much, but... I now have different problems: I lost administrator access to my own account. I know I can create another with Admin access, but I think this may have been due to having deleted the Recent folder. The new one is in a different position and with a different name. Can you help? If you mean your regular account doesn't have administrator privileges anymore, log on using the Administrator account and change the account type of your regular account. > I know I can create another with Admin access, but I think this may have > been due to having deleted the Recent folder. The new one is in a > different position and with a different name. The Recent folder being recreated somewhere else may be the consequence, not the cause, of a screwed up account. You could try to change the path in the registry and reboot. Try: c:\Documents and Settings\YOUR_ACCOUNT\Recent
