This is a Microsoft-sponsored newsgroup. It is unmoderated

although there are automatic mechanisms in place to deal with

spam and with abusive posts.

No moderator. The group is hosted on Microsoft's NNTP server

(msnews.microsoft.com), but it's also present on a zillion (give or

take a few) Usenet servers all over the world. Even if MS were to drop

the group, it would still exist on all those other servers. That's the

nature of Usenet.

Its to bad there isn't any moderators , if there were maybe there

wouldn't be so many non important posts which only waste space and

time to read . I mean people who post stuff that has nothing to do

with the poster or problem itself. There many that just post to piss

others off with childish garbages . Lately there is lots of childish

behavior going on here that I wish it could be stop . I like coming

here to read other people problems so I can learn as to how some might

resolve their issues but if this garbages keeps going on I am affraid

I will need to go else where for this , it sad .

Your own post falls squarly under your description of "non important

posts that only waste space and time to read." You have made your

point most effectively.

Use the Thunderbird filters to mark the posts by obnoxious people, as

"read".

Highlight the offensive post, click "Message", "Create Filter From

mMessage", change the default "Delete Message" to "Mark As Read". The

default filter selects the author of the post; that can be changed if

necessary.

This is the Garden of Eden compared to many other newsgroups.

The signal-to-noise ratio is way higher than, say, alt.religion.

Way, way higher.

You don't have to read posts if you don't want to, I only download headers

then just read the ones I think may be of interest.

Talk about childish behavior----rate your post.

Re: Who moderate this newsgroup site ?

You can easily do your own moderating using Outlook Express using Block

Sender option. It's also only a couple of clicks to quickly hide entire

threads.

I would imagine that most decent newsreaders have similar capabilities. And

it is certainly a simple task to ignore a conversation using Google.
