I have windows xp professional and I am trying to order service pack 2 on CD.

I have a dial up connection and the file is too large to download with my my

connection so I need it on CD. Every link I have found on the microsoft

website says it is to order service pack 2 but when I click on it to order it

says service pack 3. Does anyone know how I can order SP2?

I found a similar problem. The way I solved it was to find someone who had

a copy and copied it.

Are you currently running WinXP SP1? If so, why not order/install SP3,

skipping SP2 and scores (literally) of post-SP2 updates?

Re: Service Pack 2 CD

Well I bought a new computer that had Windows Vista on it and switched it to

Windows XP Pro. I'm having a hard time getting my drivers to install and was

told that my drivers need SP2 to work. I wasn't sure if they would work with

SP3.

Re: Service Pack 2 CD

In theory there should be no issues using SP3 over SP2.

Chances are excellent that it will; SP3 is basically SP2 with all of its

updates and a few pretty minor additions. Be sure to read MS's

instructions about installing either service pack in order to avoid

problems.

Re: Service Pack 2 CD

Start | Run | (type in) winver | OK

Does the first line reference "Service Pack 1" or "Service Pack 2"?

Did the computer come with downgrade rights to WinXP? Is the downgrade

supported by the manufacturer?
