Need a little help,

Environment Windows 2003 server

Raid 1 run on Disk 0 & 1 = C: drive

Raid 1 run on Disk 2 & 3 = D: drive

Getting message that Disk 2 is going bad.

Now the question if disk 2 goes bad will it automatically read disk 3?

I want to replace disk 2 how do I go about it. here is what I think

1) break mirror

2) put in new disk

3) recreate mirror with disk 3

Is this correct? or do I first have to do something to point to disk 3? and

then create the mirror?

Want to replace the HD before it goes bad.

thanks

Re: Disk Mirror

Hello Sam,

Before breaking the mirror, i would strongly recommend to make a backup,

if something goes wrong.

So you have no RAID controller in your server and use only disk management

from windows for RAID configuration?

Your steps are ok. See also here:
