Guest Sam Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Need a little help, Environment Windows 2003 server Raid 1 run on Disk 0 & 1 = C: drive Raid 1 run on Disk 2 & 3 = D: drive Getting message that Disk 2 is going bad. Now the question if disk 2 goes bad will it automatically read disk 3? I want to replace disk 2 how do I go about it. here is what I think 1) break mirror 2) put in new disk 3) recreate mirror with disk 3 Is this correct? or do I first have to do something to point to disk 3? and then create the mirror? Want to replace the HD before it goes bad. thanks
Guest Meinolf Weber Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Re: Disk Mirror Hello Sam, Before breaking the mirror, i would strongly recommend to make a backup, if something goes wrong. So you have no RAID controller in your server and use only disk management from windows for RAID configuration? Your steps are ok.
