Guest Joseph Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Hello, I have a Laserjet Printer with USB interface connected directly to local USB port on XP Professional computer. The computer reports that the printer is "Not Online". I first disconnected the USB cable from selected printer and then I deleted the selected print from the print folder and then went into File>Server Properties and deleted the specific print driver associated with this specific local printer. I rebooted the computer download new driver software from manufactuer website. Upon installation of software, it prompts to connect USB cable and turn on printer. At this point I follow the directions yet the printer is not recoginized as connected and the software installaton process does not complete. I tried different USB interface ports to resolve issue. Printer works correctly on other computers through the same USB cable. Any suggestions. Thanks in advance. Joe
Guest john doe Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 Re: printer not recognized Are you using a power strip to power up the printer? If so, you might try it in wall socket. How many usb devices are you using on your computer? If there's to many, some things might not work.
