Mums Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 Hey. This problem all started a few days ago when I feel asleep and had the PC running trough out the night. When I woke up the first thing I noticed was that my MSN messenger window was all black, and I had to shut it off trough "End process" and when ever I try to log in since it says that "service is temporarily unavailable" and the window has to be closed by "End process". Then I was going to a folder trough uTorrents and it refused to open it and gave me the error message "Class not registered", and the folder opened up about 2 mins later totally randomly. Shorty after my AVG Free tells me that the license has ran out and I need to reenter it. I try to reinstall but the installer fails every-time. At every start-up I get an error msg saying "Smart time lock(title) (null)(the msg)" Last night my "Razer Imperator" software stopped working and turned it self off everytime I tried to open it, I managed to reinstall that successfully though. I have rebooted several times, I have scanned the PC with a maleware program, an online scanner and avast antivirus found nothing. On other notes I am actively using Advanced system care 5 beta, with autocare turned on, smart defragger 2 with boot defrag and autocare turned on. Ever since the PC install I've had trouble with a process called "RPMdeamon.exe" sometimes it crashes randomly, sometimes it eats up all the resources of the PC uses up to 90-100% of CPU & ram for no obvious reason and other days it just sits there all fine. I can not do a system-restore because ASC removes all but the newest one, and by now its not taking me back before the problems started. Note also that I do sometimes download illegal torrents but I scanned them, and the whole PC without founding nothing. I would love to give you my set-up but as I just found out the PC can not find any information on pretty much anything. The things I know by heart is however: Windows 7 Ultimate Intel i5 2500 3,3 GHz Radeon HD 6870 Black edition Gigabyte PH67-UD3-B3 (?) 8 gb RAM Windows is on a ssd disc and I have a secondary disk I'm sure I've missed something, feel free to tell me what or if I need to add anything else. // Best regards Mums Quote
KenB Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 Hi Mums and welcome to ExTS Try System Restore Start > Type in .....system restore ....ENTER Select a date prior to the start of your problem. Be aware that your data, photos, files etc will be fine. You will, however, lose any downloaded updates or installs after the selected date. RandyL Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 I was going to a folder trough uTorrents I do sometimes download illegal torrents but I scanned them This is your first problem. There is a very real chance you are infected. However our security team will not help you until you uninstall your torrent program. Shorty after my AVG Free tells me that the license has ran out This is yet another sign of infection. Quite frankly I wouldn't trust AVG Free to find and remove infections so your scanning of torrents was a waste of time in my opinion. I am actively using Advanced system care 5 beta ASC in itself is at best garbage in my opinion. Even worse if you use the registry clean as these can cause issues unless you really understand the registry. Even worse is that you are using a beta version which is bound to cause problems. IObit has specifically said they "do not recommend general users downloading it", as it may "do harm" to their systems. Our security team can take a look at this for you if you remove your torrent program. We can also look for other conflicting or poor software as I'm betting there are multiple issues going on here. Do you have your Windows installation disks because you might very well be needing them. Quote We are all members helping other members. Please return here where you may be able to help someone else. KenB Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Sorry about the System Restore - looking for a quick fix :) Smart time lock RPMdeamon.exe These are both linked with Gigabyte software. Have a look to see if you have Smart6 installed. If so - try removing it and see how your system performs. Starbuck Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 I am actively using Advanced system care 5 beta, with autocare turned on, Take Advanced system care off your system to start with. The company can't be trusted ..... and i certainly wouldn't trust my system to them. smart defragger 2 with boot defrag and autocare turned on. Why on earth would you need to run a boot defrag?? Your system doesn't need all this rubbish.... you're not doing yourself any favours at all. Quote Member of:UNITE
