Using Windows XP with all latest updates…

In IE7, it am getting the following error message (on various web sites):

(red X) Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet site

http://update.microsoft.com/micorsoftupdate/v6/defautl.aspx?ln-en-us

Operation aborted.

I click the only button , OK.

It then seems to load the web site and operate fine.

Any ideas on what is going on and how to get rid of this?

Thanks

Bob

I'm going to assume that you retyped the above url because there are typos

in it. If you didn't retype it, then I suspect your computer is infected.

Be sure the computer is clean:

If the machine is virus/malware-free, post your question in the Windows

Update newsgroup, giving more information about your system and when the

issue started, etc. per the "How to Post" section below.
