Guest MS Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 I have an Active Directory environment with Exchange. Is there any software (preferably free) that can accept SNMP trap messages from various devices and email them? Thanks.

You would need some sort of management tool, such as what comes with your hardware. Dell has OpenView, and HP, IBM, etc, have their own version, that you can configure. There are other tools as well, but I don't know of a free one unless someone else has a better suggestion. -- Regards, Ace This posting is provided "AS-IS" with no warranties or guarantees and confers no rights. Guest MS Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 Re: How to get SNMP messages emailed Thanks Ace, the primary device I need alerts for is a large UPS unit from Emerson. To my knowledge there is no management software from the manufacturer. What would be my alternatives for a paid software? Thanks.

How about the WIndows built-in one? Ace
Guest Steven Charles Posted July 21, 2008 Posted July 21, 2008 Re: How to get SNMP messages emailed I know Windows has the Agent software builtin, but not an actual management application. If I am wrong, where can I find this? Thanks.

You will need to know MIBs and such to be able to understand how to run them. This is why a pay-for version would be your better bet. http://www.2000trainers.com/ccda-study-guide/snmp-commands/ Ace
