I have an old "E-machines" computer that i am trying to do a clean install of

windows XP on. The HD was reformated. I am fully successful when i install

windows XP sp1... but when i try an install of sp2 (or try updating to sp2)

then the machine won't start. When i try starting it in "safe mode" it

appears to be hanging on a command line ..." Mup.sys". i have tried clearing

the CMOS, reformatted numerous times, removed every device from the computer

except for HD and CD ROM... nothing i have tried works...

PLEASE HELP! :(
