Area Code Rules

i understand from area code rules help

that if i want to dial someone in another city using phone dialer by

creating a

rule i don't need to dial area code of that person everytime that i dial

that person's number,

i did so but it didn't work.i mean i dialed just the subscriber number but

his area code had not been dialed automatically

It depends. Where I live we have to use all ten digits even for local

calls. But (from a landline) we don't have to prefix the ten-digit

number with a "1" unless we're calling an out-of-the-area number. You

may live in an area where you only need seven digits, and dialing ten

digits for a local number won't work.

You need to find out the rules in your area. Check the front pages of

your phone book, or call the pone company or check their web site

(good luck!).
