Guest harvey Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 I have a vanilla Pentium 4, ( i Gig RAM, ATI Sq 250 PCI card) running Windows Sp2 repeatedly, SP3 tries to install, then fails with no warning message. It then goes through an elaborate de-install only to repeat this process. In frustration I wonder: 1:) Why was this shipped in such a cryptic format, leaving the user up in the air as to what went wrong? 2:) formatting the hard drive and reinstalling windows is not an option. 3:) Is there a patch for SP3 being readied so that some sort of error log is produced ? 4:) Is SP3 really necessary ? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks ( Sent From the Ubuntu Side of my PC)

This update also includes a small number of new functionalities, which do not significantly change customers’ experience with the operating system.
