Guest Starship Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 I want to delete the product key in one of my XP pc i am selling it & dont have a cd for it, i was told u can delete it so when u boot it it goes back to the 30 day till they enter a new key. Where is the key stored? & what files to i delete (if any) I dont want to reinstall either as I want to leave all the application inctact. Please Help!

I'm not aware of any current M$ operating system that will function without a valid product key. You're implying that you initially had a 30 day trial period with the OS. I don't think so. If you're referring to one of the M$ Office suites that was available as a trial download, post your question to a more relevant newsgroup, such as microsoft.public.office.misc. Clarify what you're trying to do.
