Guest avijit Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 hi! Windows 2003 server is installed on a server and another 5 disks of 2 TB are spanned into one volume and can be seen as 10TB of data Disk. Some how my OS disk crashed. So i installed OS in a new HDD. Now i can see all the other 5 HDDs as individual disks. How can i see all 5 HDDs as one (spanned) volume without loosing data? Can Anybody help me out? Thanks in advance
Guest Bruce Sanderson Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 Re: restore data in spanned volume In Computer Management, Disk Management, what status is shown for the disks that were a spanned volume? If the status is "Foreign", you should be able to get the spanned volume status back by right clicking one and selecting "Import Foreign Disks". There's quite a bit of information about dynamic disks (including spanned volumes) in the Help for Computer Management. For example, see Help, Help Topics, Disk Management, How To..., Manage Disks, Move disks to another computer. Since you installed the OS new, the concept is similar to importing the disks from another computer. -- Bruce Sanderson http://members.shaw.ca/bsanders It is perfectly useless to know the right answer to the wrong question.
