XP home. I am seeing a strange thing...

I have recently found two files on the root of C;

One is called vcredist X86.log and the other is HCPSTool.log. They are both

text files and appear to have been recording some file activity. I'm pretty

sure I've never had this before. What are they all about please?

Did you look them up in a Google search? There might be something there,

and that's what I'd do if I stIll had questions after opening them up in

Notepad and examining their contents.

vcredist_x86.exe is the "Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable

Package (x86)":

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=32BC1BEE-A3F9-4C13-9C99-220B62A191EE&displaylang=en

Therefore, the presence of the vcredist X86.log should not alarm you.

I don't know about the other file.
