GRANDAD Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 I know that the Epson 1250 photo scanner is NOT compatible [drivers] with Win 7, 64bit system, which i have on my PC, BUT does anyone know a way around this-at a reasonable cost!. I did once find a program that worked on Win7 but am unable to remember it-this also allowed the film and neg sections to work. My laptop is running Vista and i can get the scanner to work on this set up, but only the scanner and not the other areas. Thanking you in anticipation. Quote
Jelly Bean Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 Hello GRANDAD..... Have you tried: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Make-older-programs-run-in-this-version-of-Windows Not sure if that will work.... Quote Rwy'n ceisio fy ngorau......................
GRANDAD Posted September 13, 2011 Author Posted September 13, 2011 Hi, I think i have tried this before without any luck. Quote
Jelly Bean Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 I think the issue is old hardware and 64 bit OS GRANDAD.........It should wotk on 32 bit.... Ive done a search and found no solution..... Quote Rwy'n ceisio fy ngorau......................
GRANDAD Posted September 13, 2011 Author Posted September 13, 2011 Hi, thats the problem with new OS systems, you have to start again to purchase compatible hardware Many thanks anyway. Have just done a search and i think the program i am looking for is VUESCAN ?, I may give this a try on demo first. Quote
Jelly Bean Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 The main problem is not the newer 32 bit but the newer 64 bit......Looks like new hardware Im afraid..... Quote Rwy'n ceisio fy ngorau......................
GRANDAD Posted September 16, 2011 Author Posted September 16, 2011 To complete this thread--VUESCAN works or at least the scanner part does on WIN7 however at close to £40 its a bit expensive hence i think a new scanner is in order. Thanks. Quote
Jelly Bean Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 I agree, new scanner would be better..... Quote Rwy'n ceisio fy ngorau......................
Plastic Nev Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 Some printer manufacturers have issued driver and firmware updates for running their equipment on 64bit windows7, but only for newer stuff, have you looked at the Epson site for updates for your model? GRANDAD Posted September 20, 2011 Author Posted September 20, 2011 Sorry a bit late with this reply--yip have been on the Epson site and there are NO updates, patches or anything elise avail for this scanner. It appears strange that one can purchase a program that will work with the scanner using Win7 64bit system, but nothing from Epson. Thanks for your reply. Quote
