I know that the Epson 1250 photo scanner is NOT compatible [drivers] with Win 7, 64bit system, which i have on my PC, BUT does anyone know a way around this-at a reasonable cost!. I did once find a program that worked on Win7 but am unable to remember it-this also allowed the film and neg sections to work.

My laptop is running Vista and i can get the scanner to work on this set up, but only the scanner and not the other areas.

Thanking you in anticipation.

Hi, thats the problem with new OS systems, you have to start again to purchase compatible hardware Many thanks anyway.

Have just done a search and i think the program i am looking for is VUESCAN ?, I may give this a try on demo first.

To complete this thread--VUESCAN works or at least the scanner part does on WIN7 however at close to £40 its a bit expensive hence i think a new scanner is in order.

Thanks.

Some printer manufacturers have issued driver and firmware updates for running their equipment on 64bit windows7, but only for newer stuff, have you looked at the Epson site for updates for your model?

Sorry a bit late with this reply--yip have been on the Epson site and there are NO updates, patches or anything elise avail for this scanner.

It appears strange that one can purchase a program that will work with the scanner using Win7 64bit system, but nothing from Epson.

Thanks for your reply.
