Windows Defender saying I have a threat but proceeds to go back to scan for a virus option when I try to take action

Hello, Im having this problem where windows defender is telling me I have like 3 threats that i need to take care of and every time I click "take action" it just goes back to scan for threats, this just started happening when I got the lastest update for windows, is this a glitch or do I have a virus? If I have a virus how do I get rid of it? - Dr
