imfromczechbaby Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 Hello, A few days ago I reinstalled the PC. I have a genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit. Everything worked as it should, until such time as I tried to start a game. (specifically GTA IV, Red Alert 3 Uprising and the Borderlands). Every time one of these games run error message pops up (see links below). http://i1185.photobucket.com/albums/z356/janbartek01/warforum/3.jpg http://i1185.photobucket.com/albums/z356/janbartek01/warforum/2.jpg http://i1185.photobucket.com/albums/z356/janbartek01/warforum/1.jpg translation for this error should be something like this: C:\windows\system32\d3dx9_35.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support. At first glance it seems that this is an error with Direct X, but I have installed latest version several times and I've already přeinstalovával, but without result. I also tried these. Dll files download and paste it into c: / Windows/system32 /, but without any result. Before creating this topic, I googled for hours, but I do not know advice. I hope that there will be someone willing to help me. thank you Quote
KenB Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 Hi and welcome to ExTS I don't use Win7 so I hope the following is correct. Start > type in ....dxdiag .......ENTER 1. Which version of DirectX are you using ? 2. Are any problems indicated under "Display" "Sound" "Input" in the Notes section ? 3. Are "Draw" "3D" and "Texture" enabled under the Display Tab ? imfromczechbaby Posted September 19, 2011 Author Posted September 19, 2011 Hello, thanks for the reply. 1. I tried running dxdiag and it says, that my Direct X version is 11, but I know I installed also version 9. 2. In the notes section it says that everything works without any problems. 3. And yes, everything is enabled. Quote
RandyL Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 I know I installed also version 9 This is not possible. Only one version can be run and only version 11 will work on Windows 7. DirectX 9 cannot be installed on Windows 7. Although I can't read the full error or language it is a dll file error. Is this Czech? How do you know that is the exact translation? You say "it should be" translation for this error should be something like this: C:\windows\system32\d3dx9_35.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support. Either way a dynamic link library file of this nature indicates a software problem with the program or incompatability with your operating system. Update Windows and reinstall the software. Do you have the original game disk? This combination might help. Quote We are all members helping other members. Please return here where you may be able to help someone else.
