Guest Offer Posted July 21, 2008 Posted July 21, 2008 RE: RPC services Hi the sevice "Remote Procedure Call (RPC)" is an independence service & it must be operating at all times. If it's not, you have to make it automatic start & restart it again. If it doesn't start, you may need to restore the system to the time that there was no problem. If this doesn't help, you have a core problem & you need to fix the installation of the system with booting the system with windows cd-rom. Guest TaurArian Posted July 21, 2008 Posted July 21, 2008 Re: RPC services To re-enable the disabled RPC service. Start the RPC Service 1. Click Start, Run, Type in: services.msc 2. Double-click Remote Procedure Call (RPC). 3. In the Startup type dialog box, click Automatic, click OK, and then restart your computer. NOTE: If the RPC Service is disabled, you may need to use the Recovery Console. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307654 How to install and use the Recovery Console In Recovery Console, run Enable RPCSS Service_Auto_Start, and then restart your computer. 1. Type the following command: Enable RPCSS Service_Auto_Start 2. Press the Enter key 3. Type: exit 4. Press Return The computer will now restart. -- TaurArian [MVP] 2005-2009 - Update Services http://taurarian.mvps.org ====================================== How to ask a question: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555375 Computer Maintenance: Acronis / Diskeeper / Paragon / Raxco "naguaramipana" <naguaramipana@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:283E8119-DE30-44FA-90DA-2ED1ED66A454@microsoft.com... | hi gurus | | I have xp pro sp2 and I hope that someone here can show me or point me to | the right direction on how to troubleshoot RPC service, it seems like a buncg | of services depend on this one, like (printer spooler) , I need to get this | service up and running. | | Thanks a bunch gurus |
