ylind Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 (edited) I have been using and like Outlook Express for many years. Now the darn thing keeps asking me if I want to compact my messages. If I say NO the same request comes up every few minutes. If I say yes it starts - runs, but does not complete and stops - then in a few minutes It starts the same mess all over again. I keep all messages in separate folders by year in Outlook Express. Can this be turned off. T.I.A. Edited September 20, 2011 by ylind Quote Kind Regardsy.L
RandyL Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 Have a look here to see how to reset the counter to 0 in the registry. http://www.insideoe.com/faqs/why.htm#compact You should always backup the registry before making any changes. Proceed cautiously. On another matter I would never depend on OE to store mails. The risk of corruption high. Quote We are all members helping other members. RandyL Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 What about your OE problem? This is unrelated so it belongs in a new thread. However just go to Internet Properties and change your Browsing settings to match this. Quote We are all members helping other members.
