Guest Danger_Duck Posted July 21, 2008 Posted July 21, 2008 Is there any way to set my computer to return from standby/hibernate/sleep etc. only by keystrokes rather than mouse movement? Or better yet, only when the power button is pressed? I feel that it randomly boots up again (like when I'm sleeping) and I'm trying to see if this is a mouse issue or something else. Thanks!

Unplug the mouse and see if that will work for you. -- Regards Ron Badour MS MVP Windows Desktop Experience "Danger_Duck" <DangerDuck@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:35264CCA-8237-4C0A-BE1B-6EF2EA7A9C86@microsoft.com... > Is there any way to set my computer to return from standby/hibernate/sleep > etc. only by keystrokes rather than mouse movement? I don't see it in control panel...I could be rather blind, though "Unknown" wrote: > Go into BIOS and make sure 'Wake on LAN' is not active. > "Danger_Duck" <DangerDuck@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:35264CCA-8237-4C0A-BE1B-6EF2EA7A9C86@microsoft.com... > > Is there any way to set my computer to return from standby/hibernate/sleep > > etc. only by keystrokes rather than mouse movement? Guest Ron Badour Posted July 21, 2008 Posted July 21, 2008 Re: Quick System Standby Question The BIOS is not in the control panel. Watch your boot screen and push the key that is indicated to enter setup (the BIOS). -- Regards Ron Badour MS MVP Windows Desktop Experience "Danger_Duck" <DangerDuck@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:6EB51F66-C8CD-4B43-8FD7-26A359B5ECE0@microsoft.com... > Where do I access the basic input/output in windows?
