Hello,

I re-formatted my laptop today, and now the battery icon says "Plugged in, not charging" for most of the time. If I remove the battery/powersupply/reinstall driver it works for a minute or so, then goes back to this.

Pretty sure it's software related, as this happened exactly after a windows re-install.

Anyone had an issue like this they can fix?

Hi and welcome to ExTS

I know you have uninstalled the drivers but try this method:

With the adapter connected ...

Start > type in ....devmgmt.msc ....ENTER

Click the + next to Batteries

Right click Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery > Uninstall.

Now take the battery out and wait for 1 minute.

Replace the battery.

Go back to device manager > click on Action on the taskbar > Scan for Hardware Changes

Windows will re-install the drivers needed to control the battery power.
