Does my computer still contains the threat/virus though it's quarantined?

While I was browsing through web my defender immediately notified me for they have found a threat on my computer. I already did the offline virus scan but it still bugs me as the quarantined threat is still in my history. Is it removed on my computer already if that's the case?
