eyekiller55 Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Hi Guys, Have a problem with a laptop connecting to a Wireless Router. I will be extremely surprised if somebody can figure this out as its driving me bonkers! OK, I must explain a few things first. 1. The laptop was working fine on the last router which was on an ADSL Network.. (not that that matters) 2. When the new router (Virgin Media / Cable) was installed all other laptops where connecting to it without any probs, but not this one.. 3. The laptop in question still receives an IP address, Subnet mask and Gateway from the router - Vista says Local only, no internet access. It cannot ping anything else on the network either. When I do ping it comes back destination host unreachable. Ipconfig /all says that it has everything where it should be, even the DNS settings for Virgin and these have been compared on another machine which match up exactly, apart from the IP being i digit different 4. It also has been set in the TCP/IP settings to obtain IP etc automatically. 5. IE settings are all set to auto 6. I have also disabled Firewall or any other program running that could be preventing this. 7. The cable router even sees the laptop on the network like it does every other laptop. 8.I brought the laptop home from the client and it works on my network PERFECT! I dont know what else to do apart from Reset the NIC incase Vista decided to store the details of the old network on it... Im running out of ideas lol Hope some smart cookie in here can put closure on this episode :) Thanks a lot guys.. Cheers Eamonn Quote
