im going to buy a asus saber tooth 990 motherboard that has a am3+ sockett im going to fit am3 cpu will i need a am3+ frendly cooler or will a am3 cooler fit this sockett thank you for any advice thats given

From what I can discover...

AM3 coolers are compatible with AM3+ CPUs.

im useing a am3 processer on a am3+sockett i was asking will a am3 type cooler fit am3+ sockett i have bin advised on this forum that the am3 cpu will fit the am3+ sockett its just cooler that im not shore about thank you for your prompt reply

looking at the list on the link you gave there is only 1 cooler that mentions am3+ sockett and its the cheepest and last on the list but it also includes all the same sockettlists as all the rest as well as am3+ so i think its safe to be able to use any am3 cooler on am3+ sockett just need to work out how much now to spend ££££ and witch type fan or liquid cooling

Your m/board is AM3+ you are fitting your existing AM3 CPU to it - this is fine - they are compatible.

 

The concensus suggests that your AM3 Cooler will also be compatible.
