eusetep Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 I have a Dell Inspiron 1720 running Windows Vista and a Fujitsu Tablet PC Lifebook T901 running Windows 7 professional. Is it possible to revert to Windows XP Home Edition. I find XP very easy to use as it is on my desktop. I would prefer to have all three computers running the same operating system Quote
RandyL Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 If you purchase two XP disks you can. But you might not have the needed drivers. Seriously Vista is better then XP and Windows 7 is better then both. XP has passed the fully supported life cycle and will soon be phased out completely. Not the way to go. 4ndy Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 Don't forget that if you are missing you old XP software you can download and use the MSoft XP emulator on your Win7 prof machine. (not for Win7 home) Quote
eusetep Posted October 1, 2011 Author Posted October 1, 2011 Thanks guys. Point taken. I will just have to try and become familiar with the newer versions. Unfortunately the older one gets (71) the more one gets set in one's ways! Quote
RandyL Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 I completely understand. I'm the same way. Imagine how I felt going from Windows ME straight to Vista. I don't have Vista or ME anymore just XP and Windows 7. Quote We are all members helping other members. Please return here where you may be able to help someone else. KenB Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 Hi, (71) the more one gets set in one's ways! I know what you mean :) Vista ( my choice at the moment ) is really quite a good Operating System. As the others have said, XP is a bit dated and will not be supported at all by Microsoft after 2014. I understand you wanting to have all your systems with the same OS - but believe me ......you will get used to the newer ones. Also - to have 3 OS the same you will need to buy 2 more installation disks. This is an added expense and, in my opinion, an unnecessary one. Give the newer versions a bit of time - :) Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !! MiniToolBoxNetwork TestWireless Test
