Guest Phil_D Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 I have just begun to experience a Microsoft Visual C++Runtime Error during two separate operations. When I try to open my internal “D” drive (RAID 0 - mostly video AVI files) in thumbnail view I get the message window: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library / Runtime Error! / Program: C:\Explorer.exe / R6025 / -pure virtual function call. When I close the window, explorer closes and I lose my desktop icons and taskbar briefly, but they return within about 30 seconds. If I open the “D” drive in list view, it does not occur. The second instance occurs when I open Adobe Encore DVD. Upon initial opening of the program there is no problem, but as soon as I open the window to preview a DVD menu image, I get the exact same warning but with the line Program: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Encore DVD 1.5\EncoreDVD.exe instead of the previous “explorer” reference. Adobe Encore then closes. At first I thought the error was related to opening images, but I have not had a problem opening the “My Pictures” folder in thumbnail view. I am running XP SP2 and there have been no recent hardware or software changes. I regularly run virus scans with NIS 2008 and have also checked my system using two other malware detection utilities – everything appears clean. I can remedy the situation by performing a “Check Disk – auto fix errors” on my O/S drive “C”, but after a few days, the problem returns. I’ve tried to keep this a brief as possible while still giving pertinent information. If more is needed, let me know. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
