Recently my computer began to shut down as requested and then restart constantly!

This would continue even after I used the 'Force' option.

Now I can only switch off by disconnecting the power!

I have run mawb and Free windows registry repair, should I try using a restore point?

Hi,

If you know the way through to system restore, and can select a restore point that is previous to when the problem started, I would certainly give it a try. That will at least rule out any recent software changes as being the cause.

If not sure how to get to system restore in Windows 7 let us know.

Just to add, I see you used a registry repair program, these programs are next to useless, and by removing registry items can do damage, we never recommend them for that reason. A system restore will hopefully recover registry damage if any has occurred.

You can also try "Last Known Good Configuration" from the Advanced Startup Options.

When it re-boots or after you switch on ........constantly tap F8 about once per second.

You will get the list of options.

There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !!

Hi KenB,

Thanks for your reply.

I have gone down the restore point road and at the moment it seems

to be working.

However I will certainly use "Last Known Good Configuration"

if the problem recurs.
