Guest Venucirra Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 Hi, I am facing a problem with the OE. I took a back-up of outlook express mails, before formating my PC. After every thing is done, when I tried to import those files which are in DBX format, only few files got import. Our internal mails, which are on our firm name did not get imported. Rest like the mails i sent and the one which I received from out siders theough with the import. So can you please help in importing rest of my internal files. For example here we work around 15 people, and have official maild IDs with the firm name. I need to import these files back to outlook exp or outlook. All these mails are very important to me. Please help me in this regards.

Please help me in this regards. You need to ask in the OE group, but how did you import? One way is to put *all* of the files, including folders.dbx, in one folder, and then choose "import from store folder". HTH -pk

IIRC, I've found that I have worked around that by creating a new folders.dbx with the folder names required. I had the original folder set (without the folders.dbx) off in another folder, opened OE and made folders with all the appropriate names. Then exited OE, copied that new folders.dbx over to the "old" fileset folder. Once that was done, OE was able to recognise the "old" folders file as a message store folder and the import could proceed. -pk > > References: > > Backup & Restore OE Data > http://www.insideoe.com/backup/ > http://www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx <=includes info on Windows Mail in Vista > > Importing OE Data (all DBX files, including Folders.dbx) > http://www.insideoe.com/faqs/how.htm#importOE5 > > Importing a single DBX file > http://www.insideoe.com/faqs/how.htm#importdbx > http://www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx (paragraph before the Windows Mail > section) > -- > ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) > MS MVP-IE, Mail, Security, Windows Desktop Experience - since 2002 > AumHa VSOP & Admin http://aumha.net > DTS-L http://dts-l.net/ > > Venucirra wrote: >> Hi, >> I am facing a problem with the OE.
