Adeea Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 1. On a computer that holds a server application to which multiple users should connect to, why is it that nobody can connect to it? What could block the incoming connections to the server? Thank you! Quote
KenB Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 Hi and welcome to ExTS I must admit that I have no experience of using a pc as a server - so my advice may be limited. It would help if you could let us know how your machine is set up. Which server software are you using? Have you updated the server software to the latest version? gmiles Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 1. On a computer that holds a server application Not certain what you mean 'server application'... Are you running a virtual machine, like VMware, on your computer, trying to serve other users a specific application? If so, it is your network connections, or permissions settings. Try bridging the connections, though make certain you have proper security software installed on both. If not, can client computers/users 'see' your computer on the network, or any shared folders outside of the server application area? This would mean a permissions issue, and this depends on what OS you have and the OS of other client computers to ascertain proper sharing settings and permissions. Are you certain the application is reaching the network? Did you have to setup port forwarding, other? Quote
